Task Force Collaborators

As the opioid epidemic requires broad expertise, the Opioid Task Force has established several spinoff groups—across Texas A&M University and the community at large—who are coming together to help identify problems and provide creative solutions in the practice of opioid prevention, treatment and recovery.

Transdisciplinary Opioid Research Collaboratory

The Transdisciplinary Opioid Research Collaboratory is comprised of experts from across the entire Texas A&M University community who are intent on addressing the crisis. A virtual center without walls, where experts can collaborate without regard to physical locations, the collaboratory is a rapid deployment force that can explore difference research, practice and education opportunities critical to addressing the opioid epidemic.

Opioid Action Alliance of Texas Network

As a companion to the research collaboratory, the Opioid Task Force has also established the Opioid Action Alliance of Texas Network, representing health care partners, community organizations and the business community. This network is the community arm of the task force, reflecting issues faced by the public.

RECOVERY ORIENTED SYSTEMS OF CARE—BRAZOS VALLEY

The Opioid Task Force helped establish Recovery Oriented Systems of Care—Brazos Valley to bring together local service providers. The community resource center includes clinicians working in substance use disorder, law enforcement, justice and specialty justice (drug court), corrections, recovery supports and peer support providers, prevention resources, education assets, and concerned community members.
